Surface science that survives the field

AegisCoat builds on a decade of bioinspired materials research at the University of Michigan. One idea runs through everything we make: control the surface, and you control what water, ice, fog, and fouling can do to it. We productize that idea in two platforms.

DRAG platform · Marine

Coatings for hulls and nets

Aegis-Bio (biocide-free anti-fouling) and Aegis-Flow (superhydrophobic drag reduction) — both in a paint form factor that fits how boats and nets are actually maintained.

ICE platform · Cold weather

Materials for cold, frost, and fog

Aegis-Gel insulation (the Thinsulate alternative), Aegis-Clear anti-fog and anti-frost, and Aegis-Fluid de-icing and low-temperature hydraulics.
